Science is for everyone.

Hi, I’m Jocelyn! I’m a science communicator, author, and proud first-generation college graduate. Science has opened doors for me I never thought were possible and given me the confidence to go after my dreams.

I graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I spent years in the research lab studying the brain until I got the itch to start sharing science in creative ways outside of my university

I created a live science show for kids that toured to schools and theatres across the country. I was invited to join scientists at the South Pole and translate their work for student audiences. I began to produce my own science videos on YouTube and social media. I authored a Polar Science book about my experience in Antarctica and edited several other books in a 10-part STEAM Careers Book Collection. I landed a job at NASA-JPL teaching the public about how satellites study our planet from space.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I could combine my interests in science and the arts, mostly because no one ever told me. And that’s what I hope to be for students on the other side of the screen, reading my books, or hearing me speak. I want them to know they can do it, too. I want them to bring their passions into STEM and innovate something greater. I want them to know they belong here.
